Dear Member:
Enclosed please find the preliminary program and registration form for our Section's 36th annual meeting January 19, 20 and 21, 2011 at the Holiday Inn San Diego Baysid= e, 4875 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA.
Please return= your registration form and checks to me as soon as possible to arrive not la= ter than December 31, 2010. Ple= ase take into consideration the slowness of mail delivery during the holiday season. We must provide the hotel = with a “head count” and pay one-half the cost for meals two weeks prior to our meeting.
We contracted with the Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside, = 4875 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA for the 2011 meeting, signed a contract, = made the required deposit and secured a block of twenty (20) rooms.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, January 19 thro= ugh Friday, January 21, 2011 (i.e., the week of the Martin Luther King holiday).

Please make your hotel reservations as soon as poss= ible so, if needed, we can request additional rooms at the negotiated group rate. To make room reservation= s call Holiday Inn Bayside Reservations directly at 800-662-8899 or 619-224-362= 1. Whichever number you use you must id= entify yourself as part of the YPSW-AIHA group attending the Jan 19-21, 2011 meeti= ng to receive the special negotiated rate and have the reservation counted in = the YPSW-AIHA room block. (Note: If you are a Priority Club Rewards member,= don't forget to give them your number to earn points for the stay.) The hotel will also accept pre and post extensions of stay at the group rate in a limited capacity; check on availability when making your hotel reservations. An advance deposit or credit card guara= ntee for the first night’s room and tax are required for our group negotiated ra= tes by December 31, 2010; after that date rooms will be on a space and r= ate availability basis.
Registration starts at 3:30 PM Wednesday, January 19 f= ollowed by the 4:00 PM business meeting at which time election of officers will be held. The position of President-El= ect is open; the Executive Committee has nominated Bob Glenn for this position. Of course, nominations from the floor are always welcomed at the business meeting. Any member of the YPSW Se= ction, regardless of geographic location is welcome to volunteer; although officers must be members of national AIHA, Directors do not need to be AIHA members.=
YPSW Program Chairman, President-Elect Hank Muranko has developed an outstanding program entitled “Industrial Hygiene – Two Deca= des into the 21st Century.” Check the enclosed preliminary program for the lineup of speakers and topics on very interesting subjects. We look forward to this very exciting program with speakers of varied backgrounds. A final program, incorporating any changes, will be printed for the actual meeting.
The technical program begins on Thursday at 8:30 AM, w= ith a group lunch included at the hotel. Small group discussions are planned for 1:00 to 5:30 PM. For those not participating in these discussions the afternoon will be leisure time – you can go whale watching, visit the local malls or beaches, etc. Friday’s technical program begins at 8:30 AM, with a group lunch inc= luded at the hotel, and reconvenes for the full afternoon session. The meeting will conclude, as usual, wi= th our Friday night banquet. A deluxe continental breakfast, morning and afternoon breaks, both lunches and the banquet are included in the registration fee(s) as indicated on the enclosed registration form. If not registered for these events, breakfast and lun= ch can be purchased in the coffee shop/dining room.
Remember, ABIH grants 1.5 Certification Maintenance (C= M) Points for attendance (0.5 = IH CM point per 0.5 day, 1.5 IH CM points total). We will have the program reviewed and certified by ABIH prior to the meeting.

Ple= ase do not overlook selecting your banquet entrée, as we must provide the hotel a count of each entrée along with payment for one-half the cost of meals.

Breaks on Thursday and Friday will be morning coffee/t= ea service refresh; in the afternoon assorted freshly baked cookies, chocolate= nut brownies, assorted sodas and mineral waters, coffee/tea will be offered – unused afternoon break items will be delivered to the Hospitality Suite.

Howard Kusnetz wrote recently “Florence’s health is improving. She makes her= fist air trip in six months in a couple of weeks. We are optimistic about getting to the meeting in January.”
Judy Stockman Does anyone have her current mailing addresses? Her postal mail has been returned and she does not respond to emails.
Doug Davis We learned in early Oct that = my bladder cancer has returned after being in remission for more than 5 years; seeing new specialists this month to decide course of treatment.
